Tang Yang is the ancient China’s equivalent of a modern scaled model, typically used during the design and construction of a building of importance, embodies the techniques and styles of Chinese architectural history and is an important part of the Chinese culture. According to history, the only known craftsmen of the Tang Yang can be traced back to the Lei family, during the Qing Dynasty. A house of seven generations of Tang Yang craftsmen, from early Kangxi period to the late Qing era, the Lei house have presided over the design and constructions of these official building dioramas for the imperial palace, marketing their name in this important part of the Chinese history. After centuries of evolution, we are now able to present the intricate craftsmanship via 3D rendering, showcasing the artwork with a new light.
