Mysterious Shangri-La, Yunnan
According to the novel "Lost Horizon" written by the Englishman James Hilton in 1933, it describes a mysterious and peaceful ideal country called "Shangri-La" at the western end of the Himalayas. Later, it was adapted into a film and became famous, attracting people all over the world to search for the location of this paradise and to discuss whether it is fictional or not. All parts of the southwest scrambled to claim the location of this secret realm, the Chinese government announced and approved the renaming of Zhongdian, Yunnan, to the legendary "Shangri-La" in December 2001.
Autumn 2014, I went on Yunnan tour with the members of National Academy of Painting, Rui Long, Chong-An Miao, Ji-Mu Qiu, Jiang-Zhou Zhang, Rong-Sheng Lin, Guo-Qiang Ma, Jian-Xin Shu and other artists gathered on the Tea Horse Road. By Ming-Xian Jiang
