Grand Mazu Temple in Tainan
Tainan Grand Mazu Temple, originally called Yi-Yuan-Zi Pavilion, was the residence of Shu-Gui Zhu, King Ning-Jing in the late Ming Dynasty. In the 22nd year of Kangxi, Lang Shi is the admiral of the navy, who attacked Taiwan. King Ning-Jing and his five concubines died for the dynasty, then the Ming Dynasty has officially perished. Due to the devotion of the Taiwanese people to Mazu and the blessed in the conquest of Taiwan, Qing court changed the residence of King Ning-Jing to Mazu Temple and named Mazu, the Queen of Heaven. This Mazu Temple is the earliest built by official authority in Taiwan.
