In the late 1950s, many Taiwanese Dialect Films based on news headlines or urban legends were released one after another, creating one of the most popular genres in Taiwan film history. The titles themselves such as ""Murder At Room 7, Keelung City"" or ""Tai Nan Wu Ye Da QI An"" revealed that the events came from all around Taiwan and were rooted in the collective memories of our society. These films centered around themes like ""horror"" and ""family ethics"", showing the attention and imagination of Taiwanese films to society at that time.
